Hello Mario,
Thanks a lot for joining english-test.net! Please tell us more about your work as an artist. I like your avatar very much, I take you created it yourself? What kind of things do you make as a screen printer? Do you design layouts and graphics for T-shirts and CD's?

Hi Torsten, Thank you very much for contacting me and sending those useful Emails to improve my English . I assume you are Torsten Daerr; Aren't you? I'm glad that you like my avatar since it is part of a artwork I created for a Reading Campaign to support English Literacy here in Syracuse NY. It is also a little autobiographical because it represente my son and myself sat in a bank , reading and learning , and at the same time wec are flooting in the air above a city that is obscure and closed for us ( as a new culture, with a new language and new everything) . Now thhis artwork is huge banner hanging on outside wall of a downtown building . What about you ? What is your profession? Plese keep the contact Best Regards Mario _________________ LOVE FLOODS YOUR SOUL

Hi Mario,
Please tell more about the Reading Campaign you created that picture for. Who took part in the event and who was the audience? Also, how many languages does son speak and what is his first language? By the way, it would be great if you could take a photograph of your banner on that downtown building because then we could see your picture even better. Let me know what you think.
As for me, I spend most of my time working with people who want to improve their English and that's why I'm glad you have registered here on the forum.

Dear Torsten, I always love to share my artwork. That should be the purpose of art to bring out the best of ourselves. I have a photo of the banner that I will email to you. The sponsor of the Reading campaign was a non-profit community organization; they choose 12 artists (after interviewing them) to create the visual image of the campaign. So, each artist created an original artwok with ''reading in family'' as the theme. They utilized those works to do big banners by ink-jet printing techniques. Then the banners were hung in different buildings throughout the city with the contact information to promote the reading campaign. That encourage people to call and participate by donating money to support Literacy programs in schools and libraries. The sponsors of the campaign also created calenders and several exhibitions with the originals Artworks. I have two children, a boy 11 and a girl 5 years old. In the house we speak spanish because it is important for them to keep spanish. So they will be perfect bilingual. Everybody in the family speak English. We have been only 4 years in United States. I would like to practice more my pronunciation. Once again thank you for this opportunity Best Regards mario |
