Variety is the (metaphorical) spice of life! Fri Jul 04, 2008 9:55 am  Variety is the (metaphorical) spice of life!

Dear Alan,
I am very grateful indeed to you for all the work you have put in; you have made my job a lot easier. My particular job is both exciting and challenging because, though I teach in a private school in America, I actually teach students aged around 18 years old from Lithuania, Sweden, Serbia, Puerto Rico, Russia, Senegal, Nigeria and various other countries in Africa! What makes things a little different is that I usually have a class of around twelve to fifteen young men, often one of each nationality and all of whom play a very high standard of international basketball.

Since students from such a wide variety of cultures and languages bring to the classroom a rich mix of many linguistic and grammatical backgrounds, my class period ranges from the busily silent to the loudly conversational. In this endeavour, Alan, your help has been absolutely invaluable.
In sincere appreciation, I am,
Yours respectfully,
Patrick
