Hi,
It's good you are preparing for the GRE because this will be the first step towards making a career and earning a living. If you take the GRE I suppose you want to study and obtain a degree that enables you to find a job. Now, let me ask you this question: Would you want to work for free? Or do you want to earn an income? _________________ Test Of English for International Communication TOEIC Preparation & TOEIC Vocabulary |

Excellent. Then we are on the same page. Now, to answer your question, it's probably best if you design your own personal GRE prep plan which will include various language activities such as reading comprehension, written idea exchange, essay composition and of course a lot of listening comprehension activities. What do you think of this? _________________ Test Of English for International Communication TOEIC Preparation & TOEIC Vocabulary |

Hi,
I am new, still looking for a general view about GRE. I intend to start studying for GRE, could somebody tell me please, what would be the best thing to start with. I have some information about GRE and I`m looking for the best way to prepare myself for taking it. Do you have some advises about how should I start and with what, specifically?
Thank you |

Hello Maxim,
Welcome to our forum. It's a good thing you have decided to prepare for the GRE. Maybe you could tell us a little more about yourself so we can better assist you? As you know the GRE is a rather complex exam that covers several aspects of your education. What are your goals for the next couple of years? _________________ Test Of English for International Communication TOEIC Preparation & TOEIC Vocabulary |

Hi,
Thank you so much for your fast reply. So, I am from Romania, I graduated Psychology in 2002 and I intend to do a master degree in Psychology (Educational Psychology) in USA. I`ve found out that I need GRE but I don`t know more, because the contact person is gone on vacation. Do you know what should I prepare? Is it necesary Gereral Test or Subject Test too?
Thank you very much |

Hi Maxim,
So you have to take the GRE, now you can create your own training program. The first step might be to get familiar with the structure and the contents of the GRE. Then you can decide which area you want to concentrate your preparation efforts on. _________________ Test Of English for International Communication TOEIC Preparation & TOEIC Vocabulary |

So, are there some areas that the University is asking me to take, or I should choose. I really have to study the site more.
Thank you |

Hi Admin
I am a graduate with 1 year exp. and i intend to have my higher studies.i.e. MS , well in EE. Previously i worte my GRE about 2 years back, i scored 800 in quant but 310 in verbal and i feel its a real bad score for top schools. Can you tell me how to prepare for Vocab part, as i am not able to decide where and how to start things. Also have my GRE in about 3 months from now.
Quant part, i feel very comfortable. The only hard part for me is verbal!!!
thanks Pranav |

I believe hundreds of people are spending a lot of time in Princeton to prepare GRE test questions. Their objective is to ensure that 100th percentile score is achieved less than 10 people. 95% can be achieved only by 100 people ... so like this. Such a scheme helps the top university to classify students as someone with good score carries a lot of info about the applicant like his memorizing ability, conclusin ability within short time, struggling with timeline and most importantly understanding the context although he is not from that field.
But It's awesome for peaceful minded student like me. As i need only a range between 500-550 to secure admission but still i am not sure that i will be able to get it after a lot of hard works. Furthermore it does not require a lot of words of that style to write a conference paper during graduate study or any graduate exam unless its an English based literature.
I am not a machine that i will be able to memorize the primary and secondary and perhaps tertiary meaning of every word (starting from 2 alphabet to more).
So how is it possible for me to fight against those crazy question setter and thiere hidden intention? |

Hi Dipen,
I think you might find majortests.com/gre/verbal_skills.php useful for the verbal questions. It gives you an explanation for any questions that you get wrong on the practice tests.
Good luck |
