How can I improve my speaking by means of self-study? Sat Jul 05, 2008 13:11 pm  How can I improve my speaking by means of self-study?

Hi Parisa,

When you are stuck in traffic or when you are at home eating breakfast or doing any other routine activity, you should listen to English audio books. You can only learn to speak English if you listen to English every single day. So the first step for is to create a list with English audio resources: TV, radio, audio books, MP3 files, Podcasts, etc.

Many people think they can learn to speak English by speaking. That's only half the truth. Before you can speak English fluently, you need to listen to people speak English so you can pick up correct English phrases. For more information, please read the 30/30 challenge.

Let me know what you think.
Regards,
Torsten
