Hi

Can I omit "be" in this reply?

Quote:
Q: Do you play the guitar?
A: Not as good as I want to be.

Thanks!
Cantik

Definitely.

Maybe "Not as well as I'd like" is better

being able to play an instrument is described as being able to play it well rather than good

yes, "well" and "good" have similar meanings but usually:
good (adjective)
well(adverb)

"he is a good singer"

BUT

"he sings well"
