Clarify and clarifies are present tense. You'll use clarifies for 3rd person singular.

Can you clarify that please?

Well, that certainly clarifies things.


Clarified is past tense.

His answer clarified the question.

However, clarified can also be used as an adjective.

Is that clarified butter?
