My husband is the manager of a retail store. At the end of the day, he'll call me to say "I'm cashing out now -- I'll be leaving in a few more minutes."

And how do I call the starting of the day, that is, the act of getting the cash register ready to make transactions? Should I call it "Cash Opening"?
thanks
