Hi Andrea,
A-levels are the main subjects English pupils choose in their final year. They contribute to successful completion of your leaving certificate (graduation). Your main subjects are the equivalent to English A-levels.
So if Oxford want to see an AAA qualification as the general basis for inviting you to an interview, they expect you to have three main subjects (out of Maths, Biology, Chemistry or Physics), and they all need to be marked 'A' (best mark in the English system).
They also expect you to have an English language certificate. Here you can learn more about the TOEFL test and exam preparation.
Good luck!
