Hi,

I know of "booby prize" and "consolation prize". But what do we call a prize that is given to the second worst participant? If there is any.

Many thanks,
Cantik

i don't think there is one in english, maybe someone else knows something...but to add to your other phrases...the prize given to the last team is sometimes also called a "wooden spoon" award

As opposed to "golden spoon"? :D

That was new to me. Ans you are probably right, there is no such prize in the English spoken culture. It was a cultural thing and I was just wondering.

Thanks, as always.
