TOPIC : You have enough money to buy either a house or a business. Which would you choose to buy? Give specific reasons to explain your choice.

Different people choose to use a certain amount of money in different ways. While some may choose to save it for the future some may choose to invest it in new ventures or money markets, or to buy things they have desired for long, depending on the amount of money available. Hence, the different purposes for which people will use the money is highly subjective and relative.

If I had enough money to buy a house or a business I will definitely choose to buy a house. There are three prime reasons behind my decision.

First and foremost, to possess a house of my own has been my childhood dream.
Having my own roof gives me a very different feel, a feel which I cannot describe in words. I can design the interiors of the house the way I want. I can live in my house the way I want. Moreover, the happiness derived from purchasing a house out of the money earned by the sweat of my brow makes me feel independent and boosts my self – esteem.

Secondly, I live in the city of Pune, in India, where not having your own roof is as bad as a curse. Its very tough to find houses for rent out here. Either, the houses are too pathetic or the rent is too high. Moreover, the houses that are in a good condition and whose rent is reasonable, are either located in remote areas or in very bad areas. Commuting from such places to my workplace becomes very difficult. In addition to the above mentioned problems, houses out here are given for rent only for a period of 11 months. Changing houses every 11 months is a very big headache. Hence, if I purchase my own house I will be relieved from such problems.

Thirdly, I neither have my own business nor I wish to start one in the future. I am very happy with my current job and current position in my company. Hence, purchasing a business is simply out of question.

These are the three prime reasons for choosing to purchase a house.
