After doing something, and when later explaining this to others..

Can I say "What I DID was, I reloaded the web page".
OR
Should I say "What I DID is, I reloaded the web page".

Whenever we use DID, should I use only the -WAS?
And why should I use DID+WAS?

I think both are fine. e.g.

1. The website was finally fixed up. What I did was, I reloaded the web page.
2. The website works alright. What I did is, I reloaded the web page.

Or you can just say,

What I did was reload the page.
