Hi jctgf
In daltomaciel's original sentence, you can replace 'yet' with 'even'. Both are possible.
However, I would say that the two are not always interchangeable. Here are the example sentences from the Cambridge link I posted earlier:
1. Rachel bought yet another pair of shoes to add to her collection. 2. I'm sorry to bother you yet again. 3. He's given us yet/even more work to do.
In sentences 1 and 2, replacing 'yet' with 'even' doesn't work, but in sentence 3 either is possible, although 'even' is probably more commonly used.
'Even' works well as emphasis in a comparison: - even more success - even less money - even fewer mistakes - even richer - even more expensive . _________________ "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." ~ Abraham Lincoln |
