rainy vs raining #1 (permalink) Sun Jul 27, 2008 7:34 am   rainy vs raining

Hello there :D

How is the weather ?

1. It's rainy.
2. It's raining.
3. It's snowy.
4. It's snowing.

Do numbers 1-2 and 3-4 have a different meaning or are they very similar ?

Thanks in advance :D

It's rainy. = It has a high probability to rain now but is not necessarily raining right now.
It's raining. = The rain is falling/pouring right now.

A phrase including rainy: save/lay up against a rainy day
