Hi all,

'Went' and 'gone' are past and future forms of the verb 'go' respectively. Some one using gone instead of went for past tense,

Example,

My friend gone to his home town.
The ball gone over the top.

Is it the right usage of words?

Regards

Hello Saravan, and welcome to English-test.net.

Sorry, but you have the verb tenses confused.

Went = past. I went to my hometown last week.
Gone = past participle. I have gone to my hometown every Christmas since 1990.

(Will go = future. I will go to my home town next week.)

"He gone" is not grammatical. 'gone' is the past participle that needs to be part of the passive or perfect.

'He is gone.' (He is not here)

'He has gone' (He left, and now he is not here)
