Hi,

Is the use of 'likely' and 'will' in the following sentence correct?
Would the meaning of the sentence change if I replaced 'will surpass' by 'surpasses'?

Given the regained strength of the region’s residential operations it is likely that the full year FFO will surpass the guidance range.

Thanks,

MG

Hi MG,
"Will surpass" is in the future. You'll change the tense if you change it. Making it present doesn't make much sense - you can't logically refer to something that happens once as a habitual action.
