Dear Alan, Thank you so much for the newsletter,Take Your Time! It sounds like telling me such interesting tense stories. The grammar used to be my headache. I always confused about tense. I should have got much scores if I had known you earlier. I am sure it is the best way that I have ever tried in learning English grammar. I have been trying to find a right way and I find it right here, on www.english-test.net . I use it on my own and simultaneously I am teaching my daughter. So Alan, see what a great thing you have done for us! Best regards, Minnie |

Dear Alan, It's a great pleasure to read your newsletter. Teaching English in non-English-speaking-country like Indonesia is challenging. I think many of English teachers lack exposures of how English is used in real communication. Luckily, nowadays we are trying to implement the newest curriculum prioritizing on the practice rather than grammar point. Yet, it takes time to make them understand.
When I was a student, grammar traditional method was mostly dominated. It's hard to produce spoken English although we've spent long time learning. I was so lucky to find the book 'Grammar in Use' by Raymond Murphy in which I could have better understanding how tenses are effectively used in proper and correct context. I learned much from it.
Actually I need various short interpersonal and transactional dialogs (of course free) used in many different situations. I want to enrich myself with authentic samples of dialogs.
I am interested in the test offered by your friend, but I am afraid I can't afford to buy now. I have spent a lot of money for my son who wants to take A level of Cambridge test. He studies in SMA NEGERI 1 Yogyakarta (Senoir High School) which partly adopts syllabus for certain subjects from Cambridge.
Thank you for your support. Should you come to Yogyakarta, let me know so we can meet together.
Best regards

Respected Sir,
I am from Andhra Pradesh, in India. I am an undergraduate in Special English. Until Grduation I completed my studies in my mother tongue Telugu. So, I suffered stresses and strains in learning English. I think I am good at. You are well aware of our Indian pronunctiation and understanding ability. The same is the case with me.
In your second mail, you told that you had sent some Audio Format to listen. I could not found anything on my mail except in the second mail. When I tried to click on the MP 3 format link, I could not hear anything. Could you explain me where does the problem lie?
In your lesson, I found two new words they are, schizoid and kosher. Immediately, I referred to the dictionary and found the meaning. But I could not understand why did you use those words over there. Still ambiguity persists in my mind.
I am very much thankful, If you look over this.
thanking you, sir, |
