Hi Bonnie,
Welcome to english-test.net! I'm very glad you have joined our forum and the first question I'd like to ask you is this: How did you learn English? It would be great if you could share some of your learning experiences with our other forum members.
Many thanks, Torsten _________________ Test Of English for International Communication TOEIC Preparation & TOEIC Vocabulary |

Hi Torsten!
thanks for welcoming me well, the way I learned english can become the best teaching method I guess I was 5-6 years old (don't remember exactly) when I heard the Beatles for the first time. My mom told me later that my eyes were wide open and I begged her (being a kid) to buy their tape. She bought and since then I listened to this tape all days long, I started to sing after them, and being so keen on their music, I wanted to know what they sang about. My mother gave me my first grammar book, I studied it with great enthusiasm and when I entered the first grade at school, I could speak english quite well already. Actually I have been into english all my life. I like everything about UK, I listen to the BBC news only. So, in my opinion, the best teaching method (e.g. individual classes) is to find a person's I call it "ignition spark" - he/she might be interested in sports, music, nature, countries, etc. To be creative, to get a person really interested, to make lessons amuzing and what is more important - with humour. Hats off to individual approach I could write thesis on this issue but there won't be enough space in here I could be a teacher too but due to my personal awful experience I prefer not to. |

Hi Bonnie,
There are loads of English teachers registered here. You can identify them by their degree of ardent or at times missionary zeal when involved in discussions on language matters

Website promoter promotes a website - it is called seo technique so that it appears first on the first page in search engine results, e.g.in google. It results in a large amount of traffic (amount of visitos) hence much more products are sold on a website or whatever the purpose of a website is.
so as far as I understood, non-native English speakers cannot give advice? |

| I don't know if it allowed to discuss things like this herу, but I've just read your biography and there was a song to listen to, you have a really great voice (though the music sounds a bit electronic). Hey people, listen to the song!!! |

Hi Bonnie,
Yes Ralf has a German name because he was born in Germany. His father is German and his mother is Irish and I would say that he is "bilingual". He's pretty much got the best of both cultures -- German as well as Irish which makes him such an excellent language coach.
Speaking of bilingualism, I take it you speak Russian and Ukrainian as your native languages? In addition you speak English and SEL (Search Engine Language) so you are a real polyglott. It would be great to learn more about and from you. How did you get started with the SEO business and what languages do you optimize sites in?

Hi Bonnie,
Thanks for the praise. I used to record my song ideas with a pretty basic software so that it sounded like coming from a tin can. These days I'm using an Apple, and the Garage recording software on it is quite a professional device. Guitar simulation works quite well, too.
Maybe you feel like discussing your favourite music on this thread _________________ Test of English as a Foreign Language TOEFL Preparation & TOEFL Vocabulary Learn more: How to Become an English Teacher |

Hi Torsten,
yep, I speak Ukrainian and Russian (native languages), also German, French, Dutch and Spanish (and English). In september this year I am going to China for 1 year so I will speak Chinese too soon
well, I started to learn SEO 2.5 years ago. When I graduated from the University I had to find a job, my profession is translator/interpreter, at that time I knew nothing about seo. I had been looking for a job for half a year until I was offered a place at an IT company, they needed a multi-lingual person for seo so I fit their needs. When they hired me they knew that I can speak only languages but I didn't have any knowledge concerning seo so I started to learn it at my working place. I read a lot, started to experiment, made mistakes for the first time and worked out my own marketing plans, etc. So that's how I learned it. On-page html optimization - titles, headings, etc. and off-page (I call it "marketing plans").
What about you? Which languages can you speak?
Ralf, thanks for info about Garage rec.software, I need it too. |
