difference between traffic hub and traffic junction? (Verkehrsknotenpunkt) #1 (permalink) Wed Aug 20, 2008 16:17 pm   difference between traffic hub and traffic junction? (Verkehrsknotenpunkt)

Hi, as far as I understand, a traffic hub is bigger than a traffic junction. For example, London Heathrow can be called a traffic hub while a very busy crossroads can be called a traffic junction, is that right? I'm looking for a good translation of the German term "Verkehrsknotenpunkt".

Many thanks,
Torstne

It's a transportation hub. If you use the word "traffic", you're implying that only automobile traffic is involved.
