| but it'sn't right to say you would would you because you said if the first part is negative the second part of the qyestion should be in positive. |

Hi Tadagher,
Alan has explained why that 'rule' doesn't apply here in post #2. The affirmative is repeated for a specific effect. There are exceptions to many (most) rules which have to be recognised and dealt with accordingly... unfortunately! ;)

Because the original statement was 'I would prefer...', so 'Oh you would...' matches that form.
