Hi,

What do you think is the right version of the saying:
1. As God as my witness I will never drive anyone of my family any place ever again.
2. As God is my witness I will never drive anyone of my family any place ever again.

Thanks!

Hi Alex

Has everyone in your family suddenly become a notorious backseat driver or something? Laughing

I would only use 'is' in your sentence:
- As God is my witness, ...

However, I have also heard this on occasion:
- With God as my witness, ...
.
.

PS
I'd also suggest this:
- anyone in my family

Hi, Amy

Thanks for your correction and suggestion !

Answering your question, I heard this expression on the sitcom "Married with Children", but I must've a little misheard it.

Al Bundy is liable to say just about anything. Laughing

(But also keep in mind that it is not uncommon in spoken English for people to end up changing gears in mid-sentence, or to be thinking one thing while saying another with the end result that the two things can end up as an unintentional combination, etc.)
