hello,
here is the sentence: we found evidence of one bird strike that glanced off the lower right fuselage.
when we say glance off England it means a figure or impression or a general image of it. am I right?
but in this sentence, it seems a kind of mechanical friction.

Hi,

'Glance off' can have the meaning of 'bounce off'. A bird flying into for example a window it doesn't see could hit it and then bounce off at an angle.

I agree with Alan. Here it meant "bounced off" and did not penetrate.

You would know it better if you knew cricket. You would normally hear a cricket commentator say something like this

The ball glances off the batsman's pads and goes down the fine leg for a four.
