Hello,

Great audio! I like the speed of speech that is used. It's very much the same as in TOEFL listening part. I found out a lot of new words that I enjoy about. Thank you.

Hi Alan,
I have a queation concerning 'cheer'. Did I understand correctly that I can use it instead of 'please'? You described such situations using cheer that it looks like 'please'. Or am I mistaken?
With regards, Irene

Dear Alan, I've listened the topic "Greeting expression or "Well, hello" and I found it very interesting because now, thanks to you, I know the old meaning of the word "cheers". I would thank your "speaker" too, but let me say a little remark about the speech: Although the pronunciation is very clear, I think it is a bit fast and the pauses between words and sentences are very short; So I've sometime trouble to understand the meaning of the sentences. Maybe is this the current way of the talking conversation ?

Mr. Townend,
I have just finished to listening the audio, I am thinking that in England everybody speak to fast. I needed to listening it several times, but without the text in front of me, I can't undestand well because I am a student and I live in another country with another language and is not easy. You're a very good writer and I enjoy reading you.

Best regards,

Leonor
