Hello Alan ;

Thanks for the essay "greetings expressions"; I think listening was fast but was very interesting to know and remember the different ways to greet.
thanks again and waiting for more information.

Very good essay Alan! However, I would have preferred it to be read by someone with a British accent not American (people tend to become confused here), and also her reading sounds a bit impersonal. Moreover, she sounds like she is a bit bored....

Cheers!

When you meet some one at night it will sound unusual to greet the person with good night because good night is a civility when you or some one is leaving the company. Similarly when you arrive someplace you say good evening if it is evening and it sounds fine but when you are leaving and it is still evening it would sound strange if you say good evening. This beats me. Can you help me?

Hi, Alan,
Nice to hear about you again, my dear friend. Many thanks for your good tips about social skills and manners. It's very important to know the correct use of English expressions according to the situation. It's was a very interesting post!
I'm a sociable guy and I have also a lot of friends. In all cases I try to be talkative, friendly and polite, too.

Best wishes,

Hi Alan,

As always it was nice reading your essay. In your essay you say it's all right to say 'good night' as a greeting when people meet at night. I was under the impression that it is used to say 'good bye' and never as a greeting. Please clarify.

Cheers,
Sona

Hi Najuib,

You really should start using a spell checker as all of your sentences contain a large number of typos, spelling errors and punctuation mistakes. This is a forum for learners of English, not a chatroom. Many thanks for your understanding and support.

Hi Sona,

I'm pleased you enjoyed the essay. I may have given the wrong impression about 'good night', What I meant was that you could meet someone you know and say 'good night' as a sort of greeting when you know that you and the other person are on the way home at the end of the day.

Hi Alan! I want to know if we can end a letter with the word greetings. Would it be okay? In a formal or informal way,or none?. Reading your essays is always a pleasant activity for me. I can´t define my self as a talkative person but sociable maybe. And maybe I have a "sociable" face, because people out there in the streets, totally strangers, are always making conversation to me. Sometimes I wonder that I should had been a psychologist instead. Well, It's never to late, right?

Good evening,

I have read the above paragraphs regarding the sociable persons which it seems to me that everyone should be. Sociable persons can be successful in their social life and workplaces as I am sure they will have a higher positions. They can be respective wherever they go.
