Hi Volcano

I've never heard of any tense in English that is called the "Doubtful Distant Past".
Are you trying to translate the name of a tense used in another language?

I think maybe this is something akin to the dubitative mood? I see one mention of the doubtful distant past in a page of Turkish verb conjugations.

Further research shows several mentions of the term, all in regards to Turkish grammar. I think it may be something unique to Turkish, perhaps?
