Hello;
Dictionary says 'dependent and dependant 'are both the same ,just matter of BRITISH AND AMERICAN English;but BJ THOMAS in Advanced Vocabulary&Idioms says:
Deoendent=depending
Depenant=person who depends on another for home,money,food.....

Hi Lilish

I'd say that the word "dependant" may be more British than American.

I myself only use "dependent" and I don't use the spelling "dependant" at all.

However, the Cambridge Dictionary seems to suggest that in British English "dependant" would only be a noun.
