Greetings everyone.
My name is Mary and I come from Malawi, a country in Southern Africa. At the moment I am in Germany because I want to further my studies. I want to improve my English language because it is necessary for my studies. I want to study International Business and so I am preparing myself for the TOEFEL Test which is one of the entry requirements in this programm. I have learnt English since Primary school and it is also the Official language in my country. At home we speak our native languages(Tonga and Nyanja) and I never really got to speak much in English except in Class but of course there was always the tendency to communicate in our mother toungue. English is important for example when one goes for a job interview(Business Communication). I read a lot of English literature and that helps me a lot in keeping touch with the English language. Now that I am here in Germany, It's very necessary that I speak in English because it's the only other language in which I can express myself and be heard since I also don't speak or understand German quite well. I am actually in the process of learning the German Language.
Laura's story is ver touching. I hope that her wishes of becoming an English Teacher will be fullfilled.
I am looking forward to improving my English Language together with all the other Forum Members

Hi, Laura My name's Tue but I like the nickname Ronny. I 'm from a small southern province of Vietnam. My province is famous for growing rice and raising catfish. My place has a well-known for a fruit of a kind of palm trees named "Thot not". People usually drink its sweet water inside and eat the flesh of fruit. Local residents produce a special yellow sugar from it. My place is in a central city named Long Xuyen. It is actually a small city with a few of roads. The atmostphere is clear, peaceful, not too busy except very special holidays. Surrounding the city is large green rice fields and small canals. To the English practice, I am trying to study English and I found your listening lessons practical and helpful. I don't have any foreign friend now and I want to. I hope through this site I will have got as many foreign friends as possible to correspond emails for fun and practising English. I am very happy to learn from you and other teachers. Thank you very much. |

Hi everyone!! My name is Mateusz Filipowicz and I'm twenty years old, currently working as an Au pair in US. I'm from small town called Oleszyce located in the south-eastern part of Poland, where I also graduate high-school. I am a responsive, smart and friendly person who eagerly helps those who need help. However, i have hard time to break the ice and start the conversation. I also attend to the Catholic School named for Pope John Paul II for over nine years. This school has educated my personality, interests and passions. My class was full of characters. The polite way that it had some unusual people that I will never forget. Some of them were hard working and there was a student who always pulling someone’s leg. I was in sport group so most of them were boys. It was a time when I found my strong side of Math and Science, soccer and others. I often take part in sport competitions organized by my school and have good results. As a teenager I wanted to find myself in a field where I could earn benefits and pleasure. But without confident and strong determination my plans has change. Soon after my English teacher introduce me to the Au Pair cultural exchange, and it immediately caught my attention and interest. Later, i figure out that most of the participant were females with couple of exceptions, but I still want it to know more about it. I would never expect that after 3 months of my application i had matched with my current family. It pasted fifteen months already since I arrived in United State. But believe me I was scared to death at the beginning.... wow, as I'm writing about it remains me how difficult it was but also how much I got through past this whole time. I could write and write but it seems like i wrote more than u want it. Well, I'm really looking forward to be a member of this site and make new friends. Also I would be happy if some of you find any errors or mistakes in my writing please let me know.
P.S. Torsten, first attempt 7/10 correct answers. Best to you all, Matt =]
