Goodmorning. I am a student from Greece and I am preparing to give toefl exam in November. As things about scoring are not clear, I would like to ask you about scoring of questions worth more than 1 point. In case you respond partially correct to these questions did you get the proportionate amount of points or you dont get any point at all? Thank you in advance, and good luck to everybody givint toefl exam.

Questions about TOEFL scoring in reading and listening sections Wed Sep 10, 2008 20:11 pm  Questions about TOEFL scoring in reading and listening sections

Hello ioanniskgr,

as far as I know there is only the reading section that features questions that are worth more than 1 point. Normally you will have to choose the 3 right responses out of 5 or 6 given (usually you will be asked to select phrases that reflect the main ideas of the whole text). In this example, the question will be rewarded with 2 points. Let's suppose you choose two 2 answers, so you will get only 1 point. If you choose only 1 right answer, you will end up with 0 points.

I hope I could help you.
