| I've heard it mostly in BrEng, actually. Why is it a mistake, T? |

. So, if we take you at your word, M, you're saying in BrE, the verb smell is used in the continuous form just like and just as often as any other verb. Is that correct? . _________________ "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." ~ Abraham Lincoln |

| Not sure where you got the "just like and just as often" part from, A. Is there a problem with "It's smelling good. I can't wait." for you? |

Hi,
Just a thought for a Wednesday morning. As the old saying goes: Some people can fall into the lavatory and come up smelling of roses.

You never get tired of this stuff - it's amazing! If you think 'it's smelling good' is an OK sentence, you could break the news in your initial question for a change.
