A trim package is an automotive package composed by a set of cosmetic, non-functional embellishments to a vehicle. With time, the term trim is used to include functional embellishments also. Many cars come with several packages ranging from basic to luxury, costing correspondingly. The Honda Civic sedan comes with the basic DX then LX then ELX, each with additional features. The LX model would be called the mid-trim (middle trim) model then because it represents the middle model, with mid-trim features and as MM said, medium price range.
