How often is the abbreviation PIC (person in charge) used in English? Would it be an acceptable translation of the German term "Verantwortlicher Mitarbeiter"? If you translate it word by word, you get "responsible employee" which doesn't make much sense here.

Sometimes IC is used as: He's the person you want to talk to because he's IC personnel matters. I don't know PIC as an abbreviation.

I think PIC sounds fine - but if you're only writing it once why not just write "Person in charge"
