You seem rather prescriptive about who posts what, old boy.

Might be useful:
"use and usage: Use is how the language is used in communication, or the function of language. This can be contrasted with usage, which is the grammatical explanation of some language."

Hi Mr P
I guess the usage of a language is how you learn. And you can learn that Danger Dave/David is a thing we guys use for lots of mates/people with then name David.
This usage of the language I apply to people with a compliment, and as in Willis also as it is dangerous to hold true to all his ideas. _________________ Please meet Stewart Tunncilff |

I think Danger David would agree with you on that, wouldn't he? |

Thanks for that, Stew. I'm interested that Willis should be so well known in the world of ESL.

It would be strange if he showed up here.
(Willis, I mean, not Doug. I think Doug's out of town.)

He'll come to you with words such as this:
"Conversation is the most commonplace, everyday variety of language, from which, if anything, the written variety, acquired through a painstaking and largely institutional processes of education is to be regarded as a departure." Biber et al. |

Certainly it is a more painful process for some than for others.
