So, you make the same mistakes with your husband ?.

My husband made the mistake of responding to MrP's trolling, and I guess you could say I do the same. Better than being one of MrP's sheep though, isn't it? Better than hanging on to his every word.

If you look at this thread and many others, you might be forgiven for thinking that MrP and Amy are one and the same. And they're both obsessed with me, both love sniping, both have little else to do. Ah, well..., childen will play.

I'll pass your question on to Scott.

It is curious, though, M.

Sometimes you post questions as a non-native learner; but elsewhere, you answer them as a native expert.

How do you explain the discrepancy?

Could you show me where I do that? And do please explain why you are so obsessed with me.

And it's time you looked up "grokking", apparently.

Odd too that a champion of "other Englishes" should nonetheless always write in standard BrE; indeed, should never even refer to Nigerian usage.

Odd that you don't ask for your own "I'm obsessed with Molly" forum. Maybe Torsten will give you that for Christmas. Odd too that you've become an expert on Nigerian English. Do tell us what, IYO, the differences between the written form of NStE and BrE are, will you?

As for the rest of your trolling, see my comments on intranational versus international use of standard varieties. I'm sure you can find such posts, as you seem to archive mine.

You seem to be running out of criticisms, MrP. Why not give up the trashing Molly phase and move into maturity?

You're a strange fellow, M.

When you came back from your holiday, you posted to let me know you were back; though a couple of weeks before, you'd complained that I was your "stalker". And now, when I've tactfully ignored your latest posts to this thread, you impatiently bump it up with a personal reminder.

As for examples, I particularly enjoyed this one, where you simultaneously profess ignorance and display knowledge of the answer to your question; and especially the part where I say:

MrP wrote:
You have forgotten that at English Page you post in the guise of a non-native speaker.

So why should Rusty and Pete assume that you know those examples aren't standard English?

and you mildly accede:

(Of course, if you were a genuine non-native learner, you wouldn't have asked for examples to prove that you were.)

I wouldn't say that you and tactful behaviour are good bedfellows, MrP.

As for the rest of your post.... LOL!

A rather weak-minded argument you have there, MrP.

I wouldn't say that you and tactful behaviour are good bedfellows, MrP. With all this Molly bashing and Molly obsession, you surprise me, MrP. I took you for an otherwise intelligent fellow. You do accept that it is an obsession, don't you?

Does MrP think that only native speakers deserve the title/label "expert"?

It seems you don't lead a wild life. Molly obsession taken over?

Or maybe you've got a God complex:

Quote:
A person is who is said to have a "God complex", does not believe he is god, but acts so arrogantly that he might as well believe his is God or appointed to act by God.

A psychosis based in uncontrolled narcissism, inflated arrogance and a perceived need to subjugate and/or ridicule other individuals deemed to be inferior or unworthy.

Is that you?
