General statement about the continuous forms #1 (permalink) Tue Sep 16, 2008 12:04 pm   General statement about the continuous forms

Would this be a useful summarisation/general statement to begin talking about the use of the continuous forms in English?

The continuous forms are used to signal: interruptedness, temporariness, duration and progressive change.

This statement would of course be made after students had encountered continuous forms in their reading and listening.
