Hello everyone

I'd like to ask about the meaning of would in the following context:

Unfortunately these hot mirror filters also make the camera less
sensitive, or not sensitive at all, to images that fall in the near-infrared
spectrum, so that an expensive camera that has not been specially
modified is unlikely to be able to capture well those orb phenomena
that are near-infrared in character. It has nothing to do with an
expensive camera having more sophisticated devices to reduce such
things as lens flare and stray reflections. This gadgetry would only
exclude false orb images.

Does "would" here mean "probably will"?

It means "if you install the gadgetry it will, but we know that no one will install the gadgetry, so this situation will never happen".
