When should I use 'from' and when 'of'? Is it, for instance, 'an article of a magazine' or 'an article from a magazine'? Tips or tricks?

.
From a magazine. Tip: avoid 'of' in this kind of situation. It seems to be a favorite of EFL students, but does not occur much among native speakers.

Yes, 'for February 28th' sounds good to me there, too. Or 'from February 28th'.
