TOEFL essay: Parents are the best teachers

Some teenagers and young adults refuse taking their parents' advice or accept them as good counselers. I, however, believe that parents can be best teachers, not only because of the long time they spend with their children in their childhood, but also because of their great, unique and unconditional love for their kids. Nevetheless, for becoming best teachers, they should develop certain charactersitics and skills.
First, they should be knowledgeable and wise to transmit good values and morals to their kids . In otherwords they should have valuable information and morals to offer them. Certainly a university degree is not necessary; however, parents should be good thinkers about hows and whys. I can tell you that my dad was one of my best teachers, since he showed me how to be logical and think about the underlying reasons of events. Whenever we had a debate, I learned a lot from him not only from his vast knowlegdge but also from his common sense in solving problems.
Besides, parents should reach a balance between disciplining and being affectionate and kind. If they succumb to every desire of their child, s/he might become spoiled and rude and if they treat them too tough without showing kindness and leniency, the child might feel emotionally insecure and unsafe or even dislike them.
Last but not least, they should demonstrate their children that they truely believe in all the values and morals they are trying to teach them and the best way is to put all of those values in practice in their everyday life. Indeed ''actions speak louder than words''. For example, if they want their children to be polite, they should also be respectful and curtious towards others.
To conclude, I believe parents can be best teachers if they have enough knowledge and wisdom; if they can treat their children seriously and affectionately at the same time ;and if they live according to the priciples and values that they desire their children to obtain.

Parenting is the joy of every matured man or woman in the world today, due to this fact every parent should strive to incorcate sound moral values to their ward. "The holy book makes us to understand that foolishness abound in the art of a child, but the rod of correction drives it far" I support the topic parents are the best teachers, with the following reasons to buttress my point.
Parents should know that children learn faster by what they see,therefore they should endeavour to show good examples.In a class of 20 pupils the class teacher decided to sample information from the pupils of what they will like to become when they grow up. Some said they will like to be a doctor, others said bankers,Engineering. A particular pupil said he will like to become an armed robber when he grow up.The class teacher was shocked with the childs answer, so he decided to know the reason. The child said because my father always go out with gun everyday and come home with alot of money,buy things for everybody, he like such life. That child has learnt something bad from his parent.
Secondly, i think parents should always be their for their children, to guide,protect,direct and answer their questions. They should not morgage the future of their children in the name of what to eat,shelter and the basic needs of man.Though these will be there, he must balance them.When a child is not properly nurtured, whatever lacacies in terms of properties. they will gamble with it.
Lastly, a child today a parent tomorrow,when a child is properly guided by his parent, he will never forget the sound values he was given by his parent.

I agree with the saying parents r the best teachers for a child. Parents shape up their childrens lives relentlessy and untired by their effort they simply keep on doing it all their lives.So much can be learnt thru our parents that it always feels still there is something more we can learn .

Firstly,I would quote a saying which fits appropriately here is, Children r a reflection of their parents.Speaking about qualities and the person we grow upto everything reflects our upbringing.Honesty, simplicity,down to earth nature being a few examples .No school can teach us these things other than our parents.

Secondly,parents r the ones who take early decisions about their kids education.As we all know how important education can be in shaping up an individual .Most of the carreer decisions, we still take after consulting our parents n elders.Our work and jobs r few important things in life which make us happy.Therefore choosing the right field is an uphill task for many which is made easy by our parents help n guidance.

Lastly,Iwould like to add that behaving n interacting with the society and different people is taught to us by our parents.Children follow parents when it comes to socialising.Parents who interact with all the people with utmost ease will have their children following their footsteps effortlessly.

In conclusion,parents r the world best teachers n no school can ever replace them.
