TOEFL essay: How would movie or television influence people's behaviour?

Since television or movie has been developed, people have changed their way of living. Before television, people have their own way of thinking, they learn by their experience and sometime by listening their friends experience. But things are different now, people started thinking globally. They can view opinion of those people who live thousands mile far from them and can share their idea with them. Not everything in this world has only positive aspect, they have both side negative and positive. Television also influence people’s behavior in both way.

At first, watching movie and television people starts imitate the character they like. It has both good and bad influence on people’s behavior. Good, in that sense if they try to adopt any idol character and try to think in positive way as their favorite character do but some children tried to copy Superman and Batman, they jumped from terries and kill themselves. People spend a lot of their valuable time just watching television and movies. They sit in front of television all the day and watch different channels sometime. People’s who are watching their favorite show try to stop their nature call till break ,this is because they don’t want to miss even only one scene of that show. Television is making people more addictive and lazy.

Most of people’s have their favorite movie actor, whom they love to see on movie but some people try to compare them with their husband or wife. They search those character on their life partner which may lead them towards end of their relationship. Moreover television advertisement has changed the way people used to use before purchase anything. Now they started to believe that attractively advertised things are always good. They don’t go with the quality of that object, they love the way it appears and it’s finishing.

On the other hands, television has some positive influence also on people’s behavior. As for example, most people watch news with their morning coffee immediately after they wake up. It helps to increase their awareness about their surroundings. Some people learn cooking and dancing just watching television on their spare time. It is also a good means of recreation. Children learns play in group and explore new things by watching cartoon and special programs made according to their age group. So television or movie influence people’s behavior in both way negative and positive.

Great Inventions around the turn of the century have changed our lives and the way people keep themselves entertained have changed .Telivision and feature films were few ground breaking inventions around this time that have changed the way people think and behave .Experiences are both bad n good but the key lies in keeping television and films just for entertainment and not part of our lives.

One of the examples of television and films affecting good behaviours is they both can be informative.For example,there are several art shows, discovery shows and history channels which r excellent to watch .These shows improve the knowledge of children and help in the growth of their brains .

Another reason i advocate watching television and films is some reality shows that are aired .These shows not only give an oppourtunity to young and worthy talents but also inspires people to take lessons along with their normal jobs. For example people having singing talent but unable to continue due to their marriage or other responsibilities now have a great window to display their talent thru these shows.

However ,television and films can have an inimical outcome too.Youngsters r on the peak of such influences .Drug abuse ,Uncontrolled anger, hostile behaviour ,performing life threatning stunts are all possible reasons believed to have arised due to voilent action films ,wrestling shows and superhero films.

In my conclusion,i would like to say that everything including television and films in the right proportion can secure the future for our young as far as behaviours are concerned.
