Difference Between A Weather Forecast and A Weather Report

The difference between a weather forecast and a weather report as I see it is; a weather forecast is a prediction of the weather, which does not always goes according to what is predicted. The hurricane season comes to mind here. scientists are always predicting how busy a hurricane season is going to be, how many storms there will be and how many of them will attain a category five strength. They are not always right. On the other hand a weather report is a report made of those predictions as also of facts. Care to comment.
