. They are all easy to learn and to speak. There is little to distinguish them other than some vowel sounds and a bit of vocabulary. . _________________ Native English teacher at Mister Micawber's |

Try Singaporean English, or simply, Singlish. You'll be surprised by their accent and dialect. Singlish is a direct translation of local Chinese into English, without the grammatical modifications. Thus, it sounds very low-class, and incomprehendable to foreigners, although it is normal to me. Note to self: Singlish, not good.
I wonder if there are any Singaporeans here? |

. Not I, but I have spoken to some very literate Singaporeans, whose English was much the same in pronunciation as AmE and exhibited no significant structural differences. I think that 'Singlish' and Singaporean English are two different things. . _________________ Native English teacher at Mister Micawber's |
