Hi. You are in a strange, difficult situation because you or the person with you did something shameful or behaved shamefully. What do you say in this situation? "I was red in the face" or "I blushed with shame" or what? It can be slang...

If you did (said) something embarrasing, you can say I really put my foot in it or I really put my foot in my mouth.
