Interviewer: I should have thought this was ..........

(a) clear obvious
(b) mostly obvious
(c) pretty obvious
(d) mainly obvious

Test No. incompl/advan-28 "Mistaken Identity", answer 5

Interviewer: I should have thoug this was pretty obvious.

Correct answer: (c) pretty obvious

Your answer was: incorrect
Interviewer: I should have thoug this was clear obvious.

Is "pretty" here not too informal as it concerns an interview? Wouldn't be "quite" better as "clear" is absolutely wrong?

'Pretty' in the sentence suggests 'quite'. 'Prettily' as an adverb means 'in a pretty way' and that isn't wanted here.

Oh that's my stupid mistake. Just because I use rather and quite more than pretty though I know they're the same. She's pretty tall not prettily. Thank you for reminding me. Btw, why did you send the record? Is it your own?
