Life quotations Wed Apr 20, 2005 11:08 am  Life quotations

Hello to that person who is responsible for the life quotations.
I love them and read them daily. I also file my favourite ones. Please go on and write and display them forever. I would miss them endlessly.

However, I've come across to one which I do not understand. Maybe it has to do because I am not American?

I would be glad if someone could explain me the background or sense. Here the quotation:

Ask five economists and you'll get five different answers, six if one went to Harvard."
Edgar R. Fiedler

Please e-mail me mary16688@aol.com
THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Edgar R. Fiedler quotation Thu Apr 21, 2005 22:15 pm  Edgar R. Fiedler quotation

Hi Irmgard,

Many thanks for your interest. As for the quote you are referencing, I guess what Edgar R. Fiedler was trying to say is this: Economists are a special kind of people. Each of them has their individual way of analyzing the real world. So if you ask different economists to give an explanation of the same thing, you will get different explanations. However, if you ask a Harvard graduate, you will get even two different explanations because people who went to Harvard university are said to be cleverer than the others.
