You have to read the question before where the writer says that she has agreed to marry him and then goes on to say that she explains her agreement to marry him as turning him into an honest man so that he will have to behave correctly and honestly when he is married to her.

Why can't we use "honourable" here instead of "honest",I think they can be interchangeable. _________________ "Never judge a book by its cover..." |

Hi,
'Honest' has the sense of 'trustworthy' and describes someone you can rely on. 'Honourable' suggests 'respected' and describes someone who would always follow the correct way of doing something.
