Conchita, this is a bit late, but I want to congratulate you for Spain's triumph at Euro 2008!

Thank you, Tom. I'm not a football/soccer fan by any means, but I appreciate your good wishes all the same.

When the decisive goal was scored, I was sitting on a double-decker stuck in a traffic jam somewhere up in the Midlands with my gospel choir. Of course we all burst into enthusiastic cheers and chants -- though I couldn't stop worrying about our poor Pakistani bus driver (his eardrums in particular), and sincerely hope he didn't get traumatised by the whole thing!

Could the Pakistani bus driver understand the reason for your elation?
