I have problems with these expressions:

ring-stand
more than just the choir
It rocks the Casbah
Delta woman
to bumble around
to get underway

Most of these seem to have been taken from some books. I have given the possible meanings. Only the last two are common expressions.

Ring-stand : the reference may be to ringside seats.

more than just the choir : not just an anthem but having more importance

It rocks the Casbah :
The explosion, which rocked the city, killed 300.

Delta woman: probably a woman from that delta region

to bumble around: to speak or move in a confusing way: here going about in such a manner.
Mr Bumble?

to get underway: to start.
The conference gets underway on 15th May 2005.
