Hi Alan! i read the essay and its really very good and interesting but i could'nt understand exactly in what situation we use these phrases esp; 'The English are primarily a taciturn lot'. thank you.

i read this essay. this essay is very good and i learn different types of words but when i read this essay in between some proble with me because some words are can't understand like some words are humble and umble and also cramming so please some advice me bacause my english is not gud.
