hi everybody,

I'm from haiti and I'm twenty years old.my mother tongue is creole and my second language is french.As it were I speak two languages .now I'm also learning english as a second language.
In this recording the lady mentions that she lives in a suburb.what does mean "suburb"?

A suburb is a residential area around a city. It has its own main shopping centre, etc.
