in vs. into AND on vs. onto

Hi guys,,

I'm really glad to be here with guys because you guys are good teachers .

My problem is that i can't distinguish between these prepositions:

A- "in" with "into"
B- "on" with "onto"

it will be easier to be comprehended if examples are provided with the explanation

In refers to position and into to direction.

On refers to position and onto refers to direction.

The cat is IN the box. It's so funny to watch my cats pushing each other out to the way to be the first to crawl into the box.

I am in the room. I walked INTO the room (direction). I walked IN the room - most people will understand you probably mean "into" but others may picture you pacing back and forth within the confines of the room.

The monkay is on the box. (Position). It climbed onto the box. (Direction - it got on there). It is climbing on the box (It's already on the box and climbing around on top of it.)
