Hi

Would you say that input and take are synonymous here?

No.
I would love to HEAR your take: what is your opinion, how do you perceive it, how does it affect you.
I would love to see or hear your input: what can you contribute to this to make it better or help us undersand it.

When you ask for someone's input, you're asking because you can take what that person says and do something with it.

People can have a "take" on something that they have no control over.

Hi Tom

I would not say the words are synonymous. However what you get as a result could end up being the same type of information.

The word "take" means "opinion" or "interpretation" whereas "input" is similar to "contribution". A person could contribute facts, or a person could contribute guesses or personal interpretations, for example.

EDIT:
Oops. Sorry, Barb. I didn't see your post before I posted.
