What's the meaning of 'to throw somebody at someone'? #1 (permalink) Wed Oct 22, 2008 8:10 am   What's the meaning of 'to throw somebody at someone'?

I just watched Prison Break Season 4 Episode 8...

There's a conversation between Linc and a 'gangster' friend, while waiting to 'get the psycho' as follows:

Linc: If crab ever throws a psycho at us like this again, I'm going to kill him.

Linc's friend: Yeah, but if we don't get this psycho, crab's going to kill us.

From the above context, I wonder 'throw a psycho at us' is 'to assign a job to kill the psycho?

or 'the crab sent the psycho to get at Linc?'

Would anyone who watched this series can explain this to me, please.

Thanks.

To impose a person on another person/other people.
To force someone/people to be responsible for another person.

I think "get" in your context means "attack" in some way.

Thanks Molly,

So in this context, it means that Linc and friend were forced by the 'crab' to attack the psycho (and get the case for the crab), or else they will be killed instead, right?

I think the "kill" in "crab's going to kill" us is ambiguous.

If he doesn't do his homework, I'll end up killing him.

If he becomes a soldier, he'll end up killing people.
